Engineered - Inside out

Location: Ahmedabad
Area: 18,500 sq.ft.
The plaza is envisioned as a shared outdoor pause within the industrial setting, welcoming both visitors and workers. A series of C-shaped frame walls, articulated in varied textures, shape the spatial experience of arrival. These sculptural elements subtly guide movement into the plaza while creating layers of enclosure. Beyond them, shaded seating pockets emerge—screened yet visually connected. The walls act as thresholds and buffers, defining spaces for rest and interaction, transforming the factory forecourt into a welcoming landscape that balances arrival, pause, and everyday use.

The factory landscape plaza evolves through iterative design explorations, shaping a dynamic entrance that balances functionality with identity. Multiple seating configurations are developed—integrated, shaded, and semi-enclosed—to cater to varied user needs. Elemental features, layered materials, and green buffers define spatial character, guiding movement while creating inviting pause points.

C-shaped walls are articulated in contrasting expressions—wire mesh frames filled with pebbles create porous, tactile screens, while solid metal plate variants in varying heights introduce rhythm and visual depth.
