Nestled within the dense urban fabric of old Ahmedabad, this compact community space within a housing society was envisioned as a shared environment for residents of all age groups. In a neighborhood where open spaces are limited, the design focuses on creating a welcoming and inclusive place that encourages interaction, relaxation, and everyday community life.
Despite its modest size, the space becomes an active social node within the society—offering a balance of greenery, openness, and a distinctive element that brings identity to the community’s shared outdoor environment.
The central idea was to introduce a single defining element that gently anchors the space. This feature seamlessly merges with the surrounding greenery, allowing it to feel natural and integrated within the landscape, while still standing out as a subtle highlight. Carefully placed planting softens the edges and creates pockets for gathering, play, and quiet pause.
