The Corporate Forecourt

Location: Ahmedabad
Area: 12,000 sq.ft.
Architect: Aemje Architects
The entrance landscape is designed as a clear and structured arrival sequence where movement, water, and planting are integrated. Concentric circular paving guides visitors toward the foyer, gradually aligning with the building entrance. Reflecting water bodies on either side frame the pathway and lead to a central focal point—a sculpture set within dense planting.
A waterfall is introduced behind the sculpture, with water flowing through stone slits into the basin below. The overall layout creates a calm and organized entry experience, giving the corporate space a defined and welcoming threshold.

The entrance landscape evolved through a careful study of movement—both of people and water. The water body was reshaped to frame this movement, allowing the pathway to pass between reflective surfaces. The waterfall element was repositioned to emerge subtly from layered greens, allowing water to appear as if naturally flowing through the landscape, reinforcing a calm and contemplative arrival experience.

The flooring pattern was explored as a primary design element, transforming the ground plane into a strong visual and spatial guide. Concentric circular rings were developed to create a focal point at the entrance, subtly directing movement toward the foyer while organizing the surrounding space. Through variations in material tone and pattern density, the flooring itself becomes the highlight—anchoring the composition and reinforcing the sense of arrival.
